Hey Y’all! I am so flippin’ excited to introduce you to my next BRAVE guest on the Show Me Your Brave Series, Sasha Gray of Lipstick, Margaritas & Hairspray.
I met this incredibly funny lady in a Facebook group we are both in and love so much, the Boss Moms group by Dana Malstaff. I started noticing Sasha for her witty personality she would share in her comments and I just loved interacting with her. I then decided to check out what type of business she had and what she was all about and boy was I blown away to learn that she has over 216K Facebook fans! And I mean genuine fans that show up every single day to watch Sasha drink her cup of coffee and just be herself!
I love how she has managed to build an online community, and Sasha proves that no matter where you are in life, your age etc, that anything is possible and building an online business is not impossible. Sasha shares with us some deeper parts of her story, self-image struggles & loss, and it is a true testament of how she has overcame hardships & continues to shine in this world.
Tell me about a moment when you were brave, and stepped out into your business?
It was 2 years into my Facebook page and I was seeing a lot of growth and interaction with my fans there. I had never shown my face or a picture of myself, but, decided the time was right when I wrote about being IN the picture so your family would know what you looked like and remember you more clearly when you were gone. My then 7 year old snapped a picture right before we went to dinner, and I included it in the blog post. I closed my phone and purposely didn’t look at my blog or post or facebook all thru dinner. I was so afraid people would be mean or say unkind things. I was SO wrong. All I was shown was love and kindness and I never looked back. I encouraged other admins and business owners to do the same…people want to do business with people that are just like them and want to connect to others in similar situations. Now I am live every day on FB, and have shown MANY pictures of myself, both flattering and many NOT so flattering, just to show that we ALL don’t always look fabulous but it really doesn’t matter.
Why do you do what you do?
To bring a voice to the this side of the world. To offer support, motivation, humor and real life stories to people to let them know it (whatever it is) happens to everyone and hopefully make them feel less alone.
What is your business super power?
Making people laugh at the mundane with words everyone resonates with.
What in your life has allowed you to give away what you give in your business?
I’m old, and a LOT has happened…..I really feel like I’ve ‘been there, done that’ and have learned a lot from the fans I talk to every day. I like to share a little bit of Sasha wisdom from time to time and remind them that they will get through whatever it is that is weighing heavy on their minds and spirits right now.
What is the hardest thing you have ever gone through in your life?
The loss of a child.
What do you wish you could tell the world more than anything else?
Live and let live.
What was the woman like that started her business, and who are you now?
Less patient/more patient. Indecisive/more decisive. So very lost in social media/very knowledgable in Facebook.
Share your secret to success!
Perservance.

Sasha, thank you so much for showing us your Brave today. For me, the biggest take away that you share is that even when you are someone who has endured the deepest type of loss that anyone can, you still rise up and find a way to persevere and take on life with humor + lot’s of coffee! I am in awe of you each and every day.
